Actress Regina Hall has a natural way of lighting up the screen in any role she takes on, filling audiences with pure entertainment from her appearances in such films as Girls Trip, Think Like A Man and The Hate U Give.

You would think that with her long career and considerable accolades, that would be more than enough to keep fans and the media from delving into her personal life as a single, successful black woman–but sadly it’s not.

Hall discussed dating in the public eye and what type of relationship she sees in her future, in an interview with ESSENCE:

“I’ve gone through breakups before in the public eye, and it’s hard to tell friends, then it’s the failure of a relationship. I look forward to a fruitful partnership, meaning that I [don’t] have to go into the typical, traditional marriage. Like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. And partnership can obviously mean marriage but that we both come to be partners in like the storms of life.”
