Singer Ashanti was once apart of one of music’s hottest couples, but after that relationship ended she decided to keep her relationships private, since dealing with the abundance of rumors and gossip were too much for her to handle.

Without a doubt, Ashanti still has what it takes to secure the interest of anyone she chooses, but the public just won’t seem to let her live on her on terms and take her relationship status at her own pace.

Ashanti has spoken about being single many times before, stressing that she is happy and content regardless of the public perception that she’s not:

“I am happy because there is so much going on and now I can focus on what I need to focus on which is my career, my music and speaking to women very powerfully…. [Relationships are] a distraction. It’s kind of a distraction because it’s like, ‘Where are you? What time are you coming home?’ Alright, but I have to go to studio. Okay, but I’m going to. You know what I mean?”
