The Braxtons
Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer Toni Braxton has enjoyed a very successful solo career but when she first emerged on the scene, she was part of a five-member group that included her four younger sisters Towanda, Traci, Trina and Tamar. Despite the group’s failure to make it big, Toni did get her big break and was signed as a solo artist. Several years later, The Braxtons (minus Toni and Traci) would snag their own recording deal but without scoring any big hits, the group disbanded after Tamar decided to pursue a solo career. Almost 15 years later, Tamar would get her first number one hit song with “Love and War.” All five sisters currently star in the popular reality show “Braxton Family Values.”
