Original O-Jays member Gerald Levert passed on his singing abilities to his sons. Brothers Sean and Eddie Levert formed the R&B group LeVert along with Marc Gordon in the mid 80’s and scored their biggest hit “Casanova” in 1987. Wanting to go at it alone, Gerald split his time between the group and a solo career, but in 2006 he passed away suddenly from a heart attack after an accidental overdose of prescription drugs and over-the-counter meds. Two years later, his brother Sean passed away in jail while serving time for non-payment of child support.
