The United Way of South Louisiana is working with local organizations in and around the disaster areas to determine exactly what victims need in real time and catering to those needs. They work to rebuild schools and businesses following natural disasters, as well as get families back into their homes and look after the most vulnerable members of the community. They have also compiled an active Google map of all of their resources available to victims of hurricane Ida, including shelters, food and water, medical attention, emotional support, tarps and supplies, and transportation.
