I love being a black woman. I love my skin tone. I love my hair texture. I love my history. Although it took a long time to get here, I appreciate the complexities and intricacies of embodying a black woman. There is nothing that makes me happier than a black man who loves his black woman unabashedly. In a world where our very existence is largely overlooked, to have a black man look at us with love and adoration is a gift.
I asked ten black men what it is they love most about black women. To my delight, their answers did not disappoint.

“To me black women embody everything right with the world. I was raised by black women, I married a black woman and some of my best friends are black women. I love black women because they are strong, caring and always know when to inject humor into the most trying situations. There is a sense of calm that black women have that I’ve always strived to obtain.”
