Before “Scandal” came along, creator Shonda Rhimes had another very popular show that had a lot of buzz. Actress Kate Walsh starred in ABC’s “Private Practice” and was living on the top of the world until her marriage of 15 months to movie exec Alex Young came crashing down. Young filed for a divorce and Walsh did her own filing a few weeks later. After the dust settled, Young received a lump sum of $627,000 plus half the residuals for the “Private Practice” episodes Walsh appeared in while they were married. A coin was flipped to see who would have first dibs on the distribution of communal property, including artwork and furniture.
