It’s still hard to believe that a movie based on a Terry McMillan book beat out films like Toy Story, Jumanji, Heat and Sabrina its opening weekend. But guess what? It did. Pulling in an amazing $14.3 million over its Christmas holiday debut, Waiting to Exhale exceeded all expectations later earning $67 million nationwide.
