If you haven’t had enough of finding out who dated who, when, where, and why they broke up, then you’re in luck. We haven’t tired of filling you in! Check out 11 more couples who did a great job of keeping their boo-ships on the hush and let us know if any surprised you. Enjoy, and be ready to click (of course)!
Jennifer Lopez and Wesley Snipes
Move over Diddy! Before there was Ojani Noa, Diddy, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony, or her new arm candy, Casper Smart, J. Lo tried her best to get acquainted with Wesley Snipes around their Money Train filming days. The two shared a heated love scene in the movie, and you would think the passion would appear off-screen too. But they didn’t last too long, just dating and kicking it in late 1994. J.LO even tried to say that sex scene with the now-imprisoned actor was “horrible.” Dang, girl! I guess the two Leos just weren’t all that compatible in the end.
Tamala Jones and Nate Dogg
Nate was good with more than the chorus of a hip-hop song, he’s definitely good at putting the moves on the ladies too! Just ask actress Tamala Jones. She and the late rapper/singer started dating around 2003 when they met on the set of the movie, Head of State. In a random turn of events, in Smooth magazine, Jones actually blames Wendy Williams of all people for the demise of their relationship, and their alleged engagement, because Williams told the singer that his lady was messing with Ed Lover while they were together. Tamala didn’t appreciate that:
“That little s-t Wendy Williams has never met me. She’s never sat down and said, ‘Tamala let me get an interview with you.’ I understand she’s like a gossip person, but even the ones that write in the tabloids and even the ones that really want the story are classy. She’s a classless woman who doesn’t even know by her mouth what she can do to a person’s life. Forget the relationship, what she can do to a person’s life. She doesn’t even know how much s-t she’s done contributed to that’s been messed up for me based on her comments that are not fact.”
On a sidenote, Jones also dated Big Gipp of Goodie Mobb in case you didn’t know.
Halle Berry and Danny Wood
I know what you’re thinking if you were born in the late ’80s and up: Who the hell is Danny Wood??? Well, first of all, Google is your friend. Second of all, Wood is a member of New Kids on the Block. The two dated in ’89, back when Berry was on the short-lived show “Living Dolls,” was still unknown, and when NKOTB were pretty much on top of the boy band world. But ish didn’t last for long. Could it be because people kept saying Danny was the ug-mug of the group and that Halle could do better…?
Tyra Banks and Seal
Clearly Seal has a type: models. Blame it on the awesome singing voice (or the accent), but this guy bags some of the most sought-after women walking around and gracing the pages of magazines. And while these two were hugged up and cute in photos, they weren’t a couple for too long. They were hot and heavy for about six months in ’96, before Heidi Klum was even in the picture and after Tyra was finished getting lovey dovey with director John Singleton for all those years.
Fergie and Justin Timberlake
Uh, talk about a cradle robber! Back when Just Timberlake was just a hella young 16, he was dating 23-year-old Fergie, way before she was ever affiliated with The Black Eyed Peas. During the time, homegirl was singing with the group Wild Orchid, and Timberlake was just getting big thanks to boy band N’Sync in 2001. Timberlake was a gentleman, but sadly, Fergie-Ferg (back then you could just call her Stacy) and ‘ol boy couldn’t last because of the age difference:
“It’s true. My friends made fun of me and gave me the nickname Stella, from the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back, about a woman who dates this younger guy. I almost didn’t go out with him because he was so young, but he was always trying to convince me he was so mature. And he was. But one of the reasons we got along was because we both loved hip-hop and used to talk about the Black Eyed Peas and how amazing they were.”
Elise Neal and Rick Ross
After dating Rick Ross’s nemesis, 50 Cent, Neal found herself cuddling up to the big teddy bear that is Ricky Rozay. They went to the Soul Train Music Awards together at the end of 2010, she showed up at some of his performances, and they were even caught trying to have a Kimye moment outside of Mr. Chow’s in LA in early 2011. Their boo-ship ended quietly in that same year, and after he had those numerous seizures near the end of last year, she came back in the picture to blame the people in his camp for his health woes:
“They don’t think about him or his health, pushing him to do all these videos, pushing tours and shows. He is not 20 years old anymore — no one seems to care about him really or overall his health.”
Lenny Kravitz and Kylie Minogue
The very fine Lenny Kravitz and the singer of one of my favorite pop tracks, “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head,” were temporarily booed up in the early ’90s. This was post Kravitz’s time with Lisa Bonet and back when he was still locked up dread style and dressing mad eccentric–or at least, more than usual. Despite the fact that the two didn’t last long, Kravitz only remembers good times, and good booty with the singer: “She has the best a** in Britain… and I can attest to that!”
Toni Braxton and Shemar Moore
Remember when we said Shemar Moore used to date Kimberly Elise? That was just one sistah. Aside from her, he’s also been linked to Halle Berry, and of course, our girl Toni Braxton. Way before her sons and her marriage to Keri Lewis of Mint Condition, she and Moore were together. The man with a fondness for going shirtless showed up in her video for “How Many Ways.” They dated for about a year and showed up on red carpets in interesting attire (is that a net dress Toni???), but the cute couple couldn’t cut it for too long. They always have “How Many Ways” to reminisce…
Thandie Newton and Brad Pitt
One of our favorite dramatic actresses, Thandie Newton used to get cute and cozy with the very delicious Brad Pitt. And yes, the same Brad Pitt who used to date Robin Givens and Sinitta. He definitely has a thing for the sistas! Anywho, the two dated around the time they appeared in Interview With the Vampire together (and also as he was working on Legends of the Fall), back when he was rocking longer hair than her, and she was trying to get her name out there. They allegedly dated for a year and remained chummy even after breaking things off.
Kim Kardashian and Nick Lachey
Back when folks were still calling her Kimberly, and before she was caught (aka, sold) making sex tapes, Kim K dated 98 Degrees’ lead singer, Nick Lachey. This occurred right after his divorce from Jessica Simpson in 2006, and before she started messing with her face. Clearly a different time in Kim’s life, she was mellow with Lachey, as they were seen going public together at the movies, checking out The Da Vinci Code and sharing snacks. Their boo-ship was pretty low-key. But nowadays, whenever Kim is dating someone, the whole world gets to know about it and see their comings and goings. Thanks a lot social media…
Case and Mary J. Blige
Not only did MJB help sing the chorus to Case’s song, “Touch Me Tease Me,” she actually got to do all that in real life, as the two singers dated. The two allegedly got together after her tumultuous and violent relationship with K-Ci, and they even lived together according to Case. But he also said in an interview with AOL Black Voices back in ’09 that she had a violent streak in her as well:
“Me and Mary J. Blige did actually date. We lived together for awhile. A couple of people told me that Mary said I used to beat her up and another girl said it was K-Ci [Hailey of the group Jodeci]. If anything, she was the one throwing s**t at me. I still got a scar!”
So there it is! Any surprises? Thanks for reading!
