Hey loves! The weekend is just about over but before I bid you adieu, here are a few tidbits the celebs left for us. It’s always something with them…

Chico files for divorce

Remember Chico DeBarge? Kind of, a little bit…not at all? Well the quick recap is that he is one of the “younger” members of the Debarge family and had marginal success in the late 90s with an album after he was released from prison. Anyway, according to TMZ, he and his wife are getting divorced after 15 years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences. They’ve actually been separated since 2005 so who knows what took them so long to make it to divorce court. But here’s the thing: they have four kids and he’s only asking for visitation.  He doesn’t want any type of custody of the children. *side eye*  According to the papers that TMZ obtained, he’s asking for paternity tests for at least two of the children, likely the two oldest. Now this is some foolishness. You’ve been with this woman for years and NOW you want to find out if you’re really the father of the children?  These kids have known you as their father their entire lives and now you want to rock their worlds by questioning paternity in an attempt…to avoid child support?  Wow, Chico. These DeBarges get better and better, huh?

Fantasia finally catches a break…sort of

A couple of months ago, church official Matthew Herman of  The Harvest Family Church in Charlotte made a bold statement saying that Fantasia and her management company promised to do a show, collected $15,000 from the church and never showed up. That immediately set people off again, adding it to the list of reasons they no longer “like” Fantasia. But now, Herman is recanting his statement. According to EURweb, he took to Twitter to publicly apologize to Fantasia and her management, DB Management for posting false statements about them. He said they never confirmed the appearance, was never scheduled to appear and didn’t collect any money.  Herman said he just…lied. He gave no rhyme or reason for it – just a boldface lie. For shame, for shame.

De’Aundre Bonds’ Big Comeback

I’m sure you don’t recognize the name but I know you know his face. De’Aundre played Alicia’s brother, “Stacey” in The Wood and he was also in Tales From the Hood. Without many of us knowing, De’Aundre went to prison for 10 years for manslaughter in the stabbing death of his aunt’s boyfriend. (He says he was defending himself.)  But luckily for him, that was only a minor setback.  In an interview with Black Enterprise, De’Aundre explained that he couldn’t let his prison time get the best of him and jumped right back into trying to get auditions. It paid off: he’ll be co-starring alongside Anthony Mackie, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in Gangster Squad. Without giving away the entire interview, De’Aundre explained that prison may have been what he needed to find himself and strengthen his spiritual connection.  Hopefully he’ll be able to continue to flourish both personally and professionally.

Lil Wayne Might Be In Trouble…Again

If Lil Wayne ever tells you not to take a picture of him, you might want to listen.  Alfred Marino didn’t do that and he says he was attacked for it.  According to what Marino told TMZ, he spotted Lil Wayne and company out skateboarding and went up to him asking for a picture. When Wayne told him no, Alfred walked away but then tried to sneak a picture. Well, Wayne saw it and he, along with his crew, stepped to him and allegedly said, “Don’t you know all it takes is one word and these…” Well, I won’t post the entire sentence but Alfred said he was then hit in the back of the head with a skateboard, resulting in a concussion and vertigo.  The police are investigating his claims.

‘Da Bawse’ Gives Back

Rick Ross and his celebrity homie Swizz Beatz surprised Ross’ high school alma mater Carol City Senior High in Florida with a big donation.  He came through like Santa Claus donating iPads to the high school.  The principal said the seniors will be able to use them to finish up last minute college applications. Swizzy also gave away Reebok sneakers (you know he has a deal with them) to the students who scored well on college aptitude tests.  Check out AllHipHop for the pics.

Mr. Facebook Changes his Status

If any of you thought you had a chance with Facebook founder and primary shareholder Mark Zuckerberg, think again.  What’s that, none of you ever wanted him? Alrighty then.  Anyway, Mark and longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan exchanged vows on Saturday in front of their closest friends and family. The group of less than 100 guests thought they were attending a party to celebrate Priscilla’s recent graduation from medical school. (Go girl!)  PEOPLE has the whole story which include details on Priscilla’s ring and the reception. Congrats to the happy couple!

Introducing:Yuna

So here I was just perusing the internet when I came across a video for a song called “Decorate” by an artist named Yuna.  The song is only just over a minute long but Yuna’s voice is so distinctive and I could hear the emotion; so you know me, I became obsessed and had to find everything she’s done that I could listen to!  It turns out that I’m kind of late to this show: Yuna is from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has been on the scene for about a year.  Her stock is about to rise as the song “Live Your Life,” produced by Pharell is starting to pick up some steam. Check her out – it might be someone new to add to your musical collection!
