Virginia is in such a tricky spot. Because on the one hand while there are times when it seems like she might not be entirely ready for marriage, it’s also true that Erik is uncompromising. And I feel like a part of her knows this. There’s a reason why they get into arguments just to make up afterward. They’re fundamentally different. And while it’s clear that Virginia would like to make it work with Erik and might even say yes on decision day, these two have a long and steep road to climb if their marriage is going to stand the test of time. Still, there are times when I see her making an effort—more than Erik to be honest. It’s nice that she’s been calling and speaking to his family—without shouting how much family means to her. Given her own family background, it’s inspiring that she has been able to do this.

Also I found it odd that in terms of unanswered questions, Dr. Pepper didn’t broach the subject of Virginia’s drinking. Perhaps she didn’t want to discuss it again this week, even with an expert.
