After rumors spread in 2016 that he was dating actress and another funny woman in Regina Hall, his co-star in Barbershop: The Next Cut, Common clarified that they were only friends.

“That’s just my people — that’s just my buddy,” he told The Breakfast Club. “We never were in that space. You know, that’s just, like, somebody I care about as a friend. We worked together and right now I’m just single, so.”

“It was just like, you know, point blank just friends,” he added. “She’s funny, super cool, beautiful.”
