According to Married at First Sight‘s Taylor Dunklin, Brandon Reid has been having the type of meltdowns with production we saw in last week’s episode since their wedding day.
The Season 10 participant shared on a recent Unfiltered episode with host and MAFS alumni Jamie Otis that quiet as it was kept, from the first day she met him, Brandon has displayed some really over-the-top behavior. However, she realized in hindsight that she tried not to think the worst of him from day one.
“I mean, at my wedding, I was very optimistic and very hopeful and very excited,” she said, according to Reality TV World. “I think that kind of masked some of the things that I saw that were bad.”
She claimed that he was getting upset about underwhelming food given before the wedding, and at one point, he was careless with a producer’s belongings.
“Honestly, to be completely honest with you, on the first day, he took the head producer’s phone and threw it across the room at the wedding,” she said. “I mean, he was getting into so many arguments with production.”
“He came out and told me [at our wedding] — he was like, ‘They didn’t give me any food before the wedding. I asked for food and they gave me soggy fish tacos. And then they gave me spaghetti without meatballs, and I’m like, how am I supposed to eat this?'” she added.
Nevertheless, she downplayed his actions as him just being nervous at the time.
“Maybe there’s just some wedding jitters,” she said she thought. “Let me just throw that to the side.”
But as time went on, we of course saw Brandon get very upset with production during the honeymoon in Panama (funny enough, food was the catalyst for that), as well as with Taylor. And in the most recent episode, during the couples retreat, we know he was quite confrontational with a couple of producers, calling both a “piece of sh-t.” He would eventually leave the retreat after having a falling out with Taylor and wouldn’t return.
Looking back on his blowups and how their failure to get on one accord stunted their growth, Taylor said, “He thinks he can throw these diva tantrums and just be whoever!”
All that being said, Brandon was still the one to call the whole marriage off. Soon after Season 10 began, he filed for an annulment of his marriage to Taylor, claiming she was unfaithful, he was the victim of fraud, and that she only did the show to “gain notoriety and attention.”
Hit the flip to see how viewers have felt about Brandon’s outbursts this season:
“I don’t like Taylor at all however Brandon is an a–hole to the producers time and time again,” said a commenter. “Did he not realize that he signed up to be on a tv show?! Like what didn’t he get about that?! #MAFS”
“Unpopular opinion: Brandon said he was done & took of the mic,” said a commenter speaking on Brandon’s most recent confrontation with a producer. “Leif, producer, didn’t like it & knowing how amped Brandon gets, stepped up & provoked it more. I get they want footage, but give the dude time to calm down and he’d maybe come back around.”
“Whew! Brandon showed his tailed [sic] tonight,” a commenter said. “He was really trying to pick a fight with one of the producers? Really? You swear you’re out and then you refuse to leave soon as they say you can go. I always knew something was off with that one. #MarriedAtFirstSight #MAFS”
A commenter, while sharing their issue with Brandon, also pointed out he’s not the only cast participant who has had some unnecessary meltdowns.
“Brandon keeps egging on the crew and Taylor,” a commenter said. “Dude you’re not cool and nobody likes you…. people like you and Katie are the reason we have the rules that make us go ‘who would do that dumb shit?’ Oh you two would… #mafs #MarriedAtFirstSight”
People also felt that Taylor may have done certain things for camera time, as Brandon has accused her of.
“Brandon is an a–. No doubt. But Taylor is 100% without a doubt doing this for camera time. She is doing THE MOST right now,” a commenter said. “He is done & doesnt wanna talk but you cornering him! I hate females like her. Drama. Drama. #MarriedAtFirstSight #mafs”

A commenter noted that they felt like Brandon could have avoided all the drama at the couples retreat if he’d just spoken to Taylor about his issues with her staying overnight at a hotel with friends during the car ride to the retreat.
“Brandon is just not a catch…. the car was a perfect place to calmly discuss things instead of fighting in front of the couples so they could have a good weekend but he ignored her… so mature… #mafs #MarriedAtFirstSight”
One commenter said that he blames the experts for putting Brandon and Taylor, as well as a few other not so successful couples, together this season.
“Michael sucks. Taylor sucks. Brandon sucks. Katie sucks. Zach sucks. Who picked these people?? Oh yeah… the “experts,” they said. “How many times do they have to demonstrate that they suck at their jobs before they get replaced? #MarriedAtFirstSight #mafs”
A commenter said Brandon should have known what he signed up for (it is Season 10 after all) as opposed to always getting upset with production.
“So over Brandon behind treating production like crap too . Like these people haven’t done anything to you .. YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS and I’m sure they gave in depth detail on what all is required . #MAFS
@MAFSLifetime”
Way before his confrontation with production during the last episode, a commenter said Brandon should have left the couple retreat since he didn’t want to participate and interact with the other couples.
“If Brandon is so miserable, he could have left at any point. He just wanted to stay to antagonize Taylor and the production staff,” they said. “Kudos to the production guy who wasn’t triggered by B’s insulting, childish behavior! #mafs”
A commenter said that Taylor needs to stop playing innocent.
“Taylor is so narcissistic to say that, yeah, I stayed out last night and now I don’t understand why Brandon is upset,” they said. “Stting there with the other girls like she did nothing and Brandon is just moody. He is moody, but this one is all her. Again.”
