7 Pot-Bellied Brothas We Love
Chiseled men with buns of steel, pectorals meant for jumping and showing off and abs to make you stare on creep mode are all good, but in the real world, many men don’t look like that. Instead, they’re rocking one packs that stick out on maternity mode and pectorals that could use a training bra. And there’s nothing wrong with that! Sometimes, the more to love and handle is better. Here are seven hefty men that have caught our eyes for being Hot, being funny, being talented, giving and owning a whole boat load of swag.
Cedric the Entertainer
This chocolate comedian and actor is as funny as he is charming. Cedric the Entertainer delivers the laughs and sets himself apart from the other crop of tongue and cheek comedians with some surprisingly smooth vocals and a perfectly-tilted fedora hat. We also love the original king of comedy because of his 100-watt smile and philanthropic ways. Cedric sends a child to college every year from his old high school’s stomping grounds. We see you Ceddy Bear!
There’s no way funny man Craig Robinson couldn’t stand out. Homeboy is not only toting some adorable dimples, but he’s also noticeable for playing the craziest characters in every movie he’s in. From the silly DJ Request who refused to play the songs people wanted to hear in The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, to his hilarious turn as the club bouncer that gives the best advice at the worst times in Knocked Up, Craig Robinson, whatever movie he’s been in, is hard to forget. But on top of all this quirkiness, Robinson is both a singer and a piano player and a former music teacher. Who would’ve thought, but I could literally see him being the funniest music teacher ever.
As much stuff as I’ve talked about Rick Ross and his voluptuous breasts, I’m sure you’re surprised to see him on this list. But the truth is, there are women out there who look at a brotha like this tattoo covered rapper with his full beard you could literally get lost in, and see boo potential. Really! I’ve read, and heard it. I’ll give it to the man, he’s got one of the nicest, most relaxing voices out there, his flow is nice, and the persistent confidence he has in himself that keeps him showing his svelte figure off to us is never a bad thing.
I’ve personally had a small crush on this big ‘ol teddy bear since “American Idol” days. His smile immediately makes you smile, and of course, that velvety rich voice that used to belt out Luther Vandross’ songs without hesitation gave him some extra cool points. But don’t get too excited or used to seeing the big Ruben for ever. Last year, homeboy lost around 80 pounds! But whatever, he’ll always be known to us as the “velvet teddy bear.”
Christopher “Big Black” Boykin
If you haven’t ever heard of Christopher “Big Black” Boykin before, you’re totally missing out. The star of MTV’s popular, now defunct show, “Rob & Big” (he now appears on “Fantasy Factory” with bestie Rob Dyrdek), Christopher got the lucky chance to be the security guard for a famous skateboard star. But instead of sitting in the background, homeboy proved that not only was he sweet and caring, but he was also hilarious. Plus, he’s a responsible, good father. Though “Rob & Big” was getting a lot of love from many, Christopher stepped away to help take care of his newborn daughter. But we’re glad to see the big man back out there, covering himself in fancy Areola tassles and screaming “do work!”
Both a serious actor (a very good one at that) and a comedian, Anthony Anderson is a big man (though he’s lost a nice amount of weight) that’s been getting the eye from women on the low for a while. Although his characters in comedic roles have always been on the sloppy side, in real life, Anderson is a snappy dresser with a love of bold colors and an infectious, loud laugh we love. Whatever size he is works for me, and hopefully we’ll see more of him. But no more My Baby’s Daddy type movies please…?
The original heavy lover, Heavy D (another fella that’s lost a few good pounds by the way) has always been one of our favorites. Yes, he was indeed really big back in the day, but that didn’t put a wrench in his confidence or his macking abilities. And songs like “Big Daddy” definitely made it easier to get the ladies on his side. But he definitely had us looking at him on a different level when he wooed our favorite picky sistah, Regine on “Living Single,” as the charming Darryl. And who wasn’t thoroughly impressed with his dance moves back in the day? Light on his feet! A diddly-diddly-diddly-dee…
