It was said by none other than Sanka Coffie, Derice Bannock’s best friend in Cool Runnings. I know what you’re thinking…”but this character is actually real since the movie is based on a true story!” Nope, this is not true. Though the story is loosely based on the real Jamaican Bobsled team, Sanka is a completely fictional character, which is why he belongs on this list. Just when you feel like all the odds are against you, here comes your best friend to make you laugh and put you in a good mood. That’s exactly what Sanka was to Derice in the movie. He was the one always making the team feel better about their situation. Not only was he hilarious, but he was also incredibly loyal. He would have probably gone anywhere with Derice…now if that isn’t a good friend to have, then I don’t know what is.
