For all of the accolades that Angela Bassett has received in her enduring career, she remains very much underrated. That may seem like a contradiction but it’s the truth. She has tackled the lives of Betty Shabazz, Rosa Parks, Katherine Jackson and Voletta Wallace, but with no Oscar gold. Last but not least, Angela was simply the best as Tina Turner in What’s Love Got To Do With It. Angela has played such a diverse group of characters, but each performance has stood alone and has never been the same. She makes it look so easy that it is easy to forget that it takes incredible skill.
