The Hip Hop game is male-dominated, so it comes as no surprise that there are more songs about women than there those made “for the ladies.” But it’s always surprising when women love music that’s blatantly chauvinistic and disrespectful. In this day and age, women demand respect and men that don’t deliver are shunned in civil environments.
That is, unless it’s a song at play. Apparently, a good beat and a catchy hook goes a long way, because the moment the bass drops women everywhere are crowding dance floors, singing and claiming, “that’s my song!”
After the jump: A list of songs women love at the demise of decency.
Put It in Your Mouth
Akinyele
Guys everywhere rejoiced when this throwback eased the tensions of asking for head by giving women a hook so seductive they started singing it by request. Most of the song’s lyrics are too raunchy for print but at least it gets poetic:
“Get on your knees,
make like the breeze,
begin to blow.
But don’t give me no
ralph lauren grin,
if you’re not down to go
low.”
“Ain’t No Fun”
Snoop Dogg
Easily one of Nate Dogg’s most memorable influences, “Ain’t No Fun” had Snoop and the homies passing women around like blunts. Apparently it makes for a very fun song too.
“Say Ahh”
Trey Songz featuring Fabolous.
Women get tribal on the dance floor when Trey comes on. The mega hit birthday anthem, “Say Ahh” puts women in suggestive positions. If you’re going to take it, you should take it the right way. Trey sings, “beat her body like a congo,”and Fabolous instructs a willing mouth, “Open Wider,” and “Uh-uh, no hand’s baby. No hands. It just makes it easier.”
“Lollipop”
Lil Wayne
Women that enjoy adult films will like many of Lil Wayne’s songs, which are like musical Adult Videos for a generation. In the Summer of 2010, he scorched the Rap charts with “A Millie” but his hit “for the ladies,” Lollipop had girls swaying in slow motion in clubs everywhere. Weezy spits, “She lick me like a lollipop.”
No Hands
Waka Flocka Flame ft. Wale, Roscoe Dash
The slow drawled tempo of “No Hands” chorus is custom made for a lady to twirl on a stage and swing round a pole, while it’s lyrics instruct you what to do: “Imma sip mascato and you go loose them pants, And Imma throw dis money while you do it no hands.”
I Just Wanna Love U
Jay-Z
Jay-Z’s party anthem, I Just Wanna Love U, sends most women into a dancing fury, hands up in the air as soon as the Neptune sound drops. And from the moment Pharrell’s falsetto sends those hips swinging, women are regarded for their “sweets,” “gushy stuff” and little else in between.
