Now for the main event. I foolishly thought that perhaps Chris was going to temper his level of jerk after he did so much at the wedding and reception. But I was wrong. It only escalated. After he and Paige consummated their marriage–twice–homeboy disappeared. For over an hour, with no explanation–lying about going to get breakfast. Seriously, did sis even eat that morning?

It’s a bad look. When he finally returned, Chris, through tears that I couldn’t tell if they were real of fake, says that he had a panic attack. I doubt he had a clinically defined panic attack but the weight of his decisions– marrying a stranger so soon after a failed engagement and then sleeping with a woman he to whom he was not all the way attracted–started to take a toll.

He did end up telling Paige that the attraction wasn’t all the way there. Something I’m sure she would have loved to hear before they had sex.
