Could Ashanti and Michael Blackson be a thing?
That’s what some people are trying to figure out after the two were spotted hanging out more than once in L.A. over the last few days.
It all started off pretty harmless. Ashanti, who has a brand new swimwear collection campaign going with Pretty Little Thing, hosted an event on Sunday, June 30 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to launch the collaboration. Michael was among the well-known names, including Tiffany Haddish as you can see, who attended:

But the pair also spent time together outside of the event. On early Tuesday morning, the two were seen coming out of the Peppermint Night Club in West Hollywood. They were both all smiles and laughs (and she sported head-to-toe Louis Vuitton).

The two came and left together with Michael behind the wheel of a 2019 Rolls Royce truck and Ashanti in the passenger’s seat.
Blackson was last engaged to a woman named Georgia Reign, whom he’d previously split with due to cheating. As for Ashanti, she’s dated here and there over the years, but her last long-term relationship was with rapper Nelly, whom she dated for about 10 years. When asked a few years ago on the defunct Meredith Viera Show about why they didn’t last, she said there were some insecurity issues.
“I think sometimes when people have their own insecurities it allows them to act out of character. I’ve been betrayed,” she said at the time.
“Again, you just have to grow. You have to grow up and accept responsibilities for the things that you do, she added. “I’m not a big fan of people being cowards. I think it’s really important to know yourself and understand what you want and get it. I’m in a different place right now.”
Well, it was only a matter of time that someone would scoop up the beauty, who has been slaying all of our lives on Instagram for years. If she and Michael really are a thing, and she likes it, then we love it.
