Round 2: Selita Ebanks Sued Over Breaking Model’s Nose In Fight
Don’t we keep saying you can’t just walk around smacking/punching/slapping people without consequence? Selita Ebanks is just now learning that delayed lesson after Telemundo model Liza Irizarry, 34, filed a lawsuit against the Victoria’s Secret model for breaking her nose during a Miami fight last year.
If you remember in November, Selita reportedly flipped out on Liza for speaking to Terrence J when they were out at Dream nightclub. Liza supposedly just said “hello” to Terrence and gave him a kiss on the cheek but that kiss earned her a broken nose when Selita, who was standing behind Terrence, supposedly yelled out “Don’t be kissing on my man!” and instantly swung her fist at Liza’s face. The blow broke Liza’s nose and the following Monday she told the Daily News:
“I was in so much pain. My pillow was covered in blood.”
Now Liza wants some compensation for that pain and suffering. NY Daily News is reporting that a suit will be filed for assault and battery in Hudson County Superior Court, near Selita’s New Jersey home, seeking cash for pain, suffering, and medical bills. Liza filed a police report immediately following the incident last fall but Selita was never arrested or charged with anything, now she and her lawyer, Edward Steinberg, want to make her pay. He told the Daily News:
“We hope that with an action like this, Miss Ebanks will no longer attack or assault anyone. We think this is a very simple case of assault and battery by a woman, who maybe used her status and stature to feel like she could get away with something.”
I wonder if she can smile her way out of this. What do you think?

Meeting In The Bedroom! Survey Shows How Big Cities Get It On
Looking to charge up your sex life? You might want to visit New York, Miami or Atlanta.
So here’s the thing: condom brand Trojan surveyed 2,000 U.S. adults about their sexual habits and these cities topped the list in quite a few of the categories. The survey shows that Miami is at the top of the leaderboard with the average number times sex is had per year at 177 while the rest of the country “only” averages out at 151 times per year (New York is second at 156 times per year). I guess more than just the temperature makes it “muy caliente” down there.
Not to be outdone, New Yorkers seem to be more vocal about their sexual desires. At 27 percent, New Yorkers are at the top when it comes to expressing their fantasies to their lovers and 78 percent are open to trying a vibrator with a partner during sex. If you’ve ever walked through the West Village and took stock of all the “toy stores” that are there, this won’t surprise you that much.
Oh but I didn’t forget you, Atlanta. The survey says that at 72 percent, Atlanta is the most sexually adventurous city and they also have the highest sex drive (7.2 out of 10). It’s no wonder the residents confessed to having an average of 25 sexual partners in their lifetime (Atlanta is at the top of that leaderboard too). Yes, you all are keeping it “hot” indeed.
The survey doesn’t mention sexual orientation of those surveyed but it’s funny that these cities topped the list in most categories (the survey was done in a total of 10 major cities) because women claim in all these cities that they’re not really getting any because there’s a shortage of men. I’m not just talking about black women either; peek your head into the conversations of our white sisters (if you’re not already cool with them) and you’ll see that they’re having the same issues many of us seem to be having. But hey, a woman’s got needs just like any other man would so we’re “getting it in” even with the issues some of us seem to be having with our deeper relationships.
Check out the survey here. Do you consider yourself sexually “free?” Would you like to try a little something different to spice up your life?

Trouble on the Set: Is Shaunie’s Boo Creeping With Another ‘Basketball Wives’ Cast Member?
So this story is literally getting strung together by a single, brittle thread but we figure it’s still worth a looksi. Some blogs are starting to speculate that Shaunie O’Neil’s young lover, Marlon Yates, is trading in his Miami castmate for a member of the LA cast because rumor has it, he may have something going on with Draya.
The suspicion is based on a few odd tweets that Draya sent out which are a smidge cryptic, but if you wanted to read through the lines you could pull together a heck of a story, like a lot of sites are. Draya said:
“@MarlonYatesJr lol. No I’m chillin. Impatient if anything. Never mad.”
“@MarlonYatesJr marlon I’m confused. What am I mad about?”
The thing is Marlon’s tweets to her aren’t visible, which means either Draya decided to tweet responses to him rather than DM him back or he deleted the messages he sent in the first place, and we all know deleted tweets means you were sending something you had no business tweeting in the first place. There was also another message that seemed a little shady. Draya retweeted one of Marlon’s tweets and added her own seemingly sarcastic message:
RT @MarlonYatesJr: I Love My Woman……… <<— #thingsamansays
Draya could also be shouting him out but I highly doubt she’s cool enough with the couple to be all up in Shaunie’s romantic life like that. But, like I said before, there isn’t a whole lot of meat to this story and it probably doesn’t help that Draya has a rep for being every athlete’s favorite woman. All I know is if it does come out that she’s messing with Marlon, Shaunie will probably wipe out that entire LA cast. She’s already got Laura, who supposedly crept with Shaq during their marriage, on the team, I doubt she would employ another one of her men’s mistress, unless she’s really trying to keep that pimp hand strong.
What do you think? Could there be anything to these suggestive tweets?

Protestors of “Basketball Wives” and “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta” might as well keep their e-pens handy because if people are already on fire about those two shows, there’s no way they’re going to let this new reality show fly.
Several months ago, we mentioned rumors a reality show based on the King of Diamonds strip club in Miami was coming to TV and now MissInfo.TV says it’s so:
“This is the story… The story of the money, the girls, the people, the fame and the love. Taking a page from HBO’s hit series CATHOUSE, and FULL THROTTLE, MAKE IT RAIN will be an amalgamation of docu-drama and sexuality, but at the very heart of the piece is a real story. [Owner] Terry managing a thriving business and juggling his other business ventures. At the same time, being a father figure to his employees, giving advice, coaching, paternally guiding some of the girls, making sure that his team of managers (the four horse men) and his self are on the same page, keeping his “A” list celebs clients, music entertainers and athletes happy…and doing all of this as a happily married man with a family of his own”
The first reports about this show said that VH1 was picking it up, but from this NSFW trailer I don’t think they could get away with this. The latest reports simply say a “major network,” and from the looks of things that would have to be a channel like HBO or Showtime, which are mentioned in the description, due to the nudity and language alone. Either way, I’m sure none of us is thrilled about this little “docu-drama.” I wonder what it’s favor patrons, Rick Ross, Diddy, Lil Wayne, and Drake think?

Bar Owners, Party Throwers & DJs: African-American Women Making It In The Nightlife Business
By Makula Dunbar
In the business world, there are countless avenues that inquiring minds can travel down to both create establishments/hustles within and capitalize on. A plethora of industries including: public relations, marketing, advertising, retail and entertainment have proven to boast racial and gender diversity — many featured here on Madame Noire.
However, an industry that is in the least traveled by African-American businesswomen just happens to be one that the black community frequents most; nightlife. Though the owners, party throwers, managers and DJs in the 23 billion dollar industry are scattered, there are a few here and there making headway. Meet three African-American women working to narrow the gap; making it in the nightlife business.
The Life of the Party: Branding, building and overall business
It’s 1:00 p.m. in Los Angeles. DJ Asha is just waking up. On a pleasant Friday afternoon, it’s not easy to gather that she’s an unconventional early bird. Though for anyone whose job keeps them up until 7:00 a.m., it’s difficult to call if even 4:00 p.m. is a decent waking hour.
“I was DJing last night so I got in pretty late,” she said sounding far from drowsy. It’s kind of expected as she’s had her fair share of practice hyping up crowds.
“When you’re DJing you have the music in your headphones and the monitor speakers right next to you. There’s all this loud music in your face, people coming up to you taking pictures, conversations and stuff,” Asha explained. “You get home and your head is still going over the great mix that you played. By 2:00 a.m. or 3:00 in the morning you’re fairly hungry, so I may end up getting some food after the club or watching a movie. My brain is still buzzing so it takes a minute to unwind.”
Three years ago Asha packed up to pursue party-throwing full-time on the West coast leaving two radio gigs in her home country London. What started out as moral support for a nervous roommate learning to DJ evolved into a non-stop party once Asha decided to learn the turntable ropes as well. After graduating with a degree in biotechnology she began playing at clubs in locales like Dubai Bulgaria, Russia, Greece, Lithuania and Italy. It was in Ibiza, Spain that she ran into hip-hop’s self-proclaimed party king P. Diddy. Through party promoters in London, Asha earned an opportunity to play at one of Diddy’s parties. After hearing a set in Spain, he sent out a personal request.
“In Ibiza all they do is party. They go from one big club to the next from 6 p.m. to sometimes lunchtime. It’s pretty expensive and people save up all year; it’s a big deal. If you’re a DJ playing in Ibiza, it’s like playing at the World Cup,” she said.
For the most part, Asha says club owners love international DJs — especially ones from London who have an eclectic knowledge and taste in various music genres.

Spending stacks on quality naked toe-touching is no longer just a man’s thing. This weekend, Evelyn reportedly made it rain “one George Washington at a time” at a popular Miami gentleman’s lounge.
While hosting an event at the G5 strip club, Evelyn spent around $2,000 on topless ladies, but to her credit it’s not as though she didn’t get anything out of it. The dancers were said to keep coming over to Evelyn and offering their services and some even showed her how to drop it like it’s hot for her (supposed) soon-to-be husband, Chad Ochocinco. Let’s just hope he’s not trying to invite any of the dancers into their bedroom after this.
Check out the photo sideshow of her night out here, if you are so inclined. Let’s just say she was awfully up close and very personal. She must be earning Nene’s “Real Housewives” money on “Basketball Wives.”

Still Acting Up: Warrant Being Prepared for Chris Brown’s Arrest
Chris Brown picked the wrong time to start acting up. A spokesperson for the Florida State Attorney General’s Office says a warrant is being prepared for his arrest after a woman filed a police report claiming he stole her cell phone.
According to the incident report, Chris took Chrital Spann’s phone after she took a picture of him exiting a Miami nightclub with Tyga last weekend. When the girl snapped a pic of Chris in the backseat of a Bentley, he allegedly snatched the phone and told her, “B****, you ain’t giving this to no website,” rolled up the window and drove off with the iPhone.
The arrest warrant will bring Chris in for suspicion of “robbery by sudden snatching,” and if convicted he would be in violation of his five-year probation stemming from his felony assault charge three years ago and could possibly serve significant jail time. According to a source, “Chris is taking this very seriously” and is letting his lawyer handle things. And although he’s no longer in Miami, “if he needs to return for any reason, he certainly will. Chris has nothing to hide.”
I’m thinking Chris was somewhere he wasn’t supposed to; otherwise I don’t see why he flipped about a fan taking a picture. I’m pretty sure that happens every time he leaves the house.
Do you think Chris had a right to be mad at his fan snapping pics or should he be arrested for snatching her phone?

SMH: Graphic Designer Sorry for MLK Stripper Party Promo
Martin Luther King Jr. died for a lot, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t for the right to drink Ciroc and throw dollar bills at strippers. That’s the image a Miami graphic designer portrayed on a flyer advertising an “I Have a Dream” birthday bash this past Sunday.
Jeffrey Darnell Paul/ DJ Big Boy just barely uttered the words “I apologize” when an NBC newscaster asked what he was thinking when he made a flyer like that.
“What was I thinking?,” he responded. “Promotion, my business.”
The promotion didn’t work so well though. The gentleman’s club, which did not approve the flyers and claims Jeffrey acted on his own, called the entire celebration off and there was no party when the club opened its doors on MLK’s bday. Appearing halfway apologetic, although able to easily make this mistake again, Jeffrey said he wishes he would’ve taken the time to think about what he was putting on the flyer, which he says he spent no more than five minutes creating.
“If I could turn back the hands of time, it wouldn’t have happened…that’s something you don’t play with as I’ve learned.”
I still have a feeling he’ll find someway to disgrace the nation’s founders for President’s Day next month. I pretty much hate all of the flyers promoters come up with for night clubs anyway but this one by DJ Big Boy definitely takes the cake.
Do you think the DJ even realizes what was wrong with what he did? Did you come across any crazy MLK party promotions this past weekend?

Work In This City? Maybe That’s Why You’re So Unhappy

If you’re feeling particularly depressed about your work and location, maybe it’s time to move. CareerBliss gives a list of the happiest and unhappiest cities to work in around the nation. For those that feel unhappy in their situation, take a look and see if your city ended up on this list.
At the top of the list is Miami, Florida. This is the second year in a row that Miami has earned the number one spot on the list. The busy, vibrant city known as a popular vacation spot has a 4.14 bliss rating on CareerBliss’ scale from 1-5. The average salary here is $53,764. Heidi Golledge, the chief executive of Career Bliss, tells Forbes that tourism, international trade, and international banking are Miami’s leading business sectors. Over the past year, travel and leisure employees have enjoyed an increase in happiness.
Worcester, MA and Oklahoma City, OK come in second and third on the list with a 4.106 and a 4.105 bliss rating prospectively. Employees in these two cities enjoy an average salary of around $54,000. If you choose the fourth happiest city, San Jose, CA, you may stand to make about $83,000.
On the other side, the unhappiest city to work in is New Haven, CT. So for those of you thinking on taking that promotion in this city, you may want to reconsider. New Haven received a 3.465 bliss ratings. Employees here make an average of $62,604. The problem in this city seems to be a lack of “industry diversification.”
“As the city of New Haven moves from a former manufacturing environment to one led by health care and education, many employees feel there to be a limited number of industries, and that affects overall growth opportunities for employees,” CareerBliss chief technology officer Matt Miller tells Forbes.
Next on the list of ill-fated cities to work in is Dayton, Ohio with a 3.669 rating. Here employees stand to make $58,160 on average. Milwaukee, WI is third on the list with a 3.687 rating and an average salary of $52,425. The cold from some of these cities isn’t just from the lack of opportunities; it’s also from the physical environment. You may have noticed that between the happiest cities and the unhappiest cities, there is also a big difference in weather temperature.
But Golledge tells Forbes that “it is not a city’s attractions or overall culture that truly affect employee happiness in a region. The overall growth opportunity and company culture lead to happy employees.”
