Aside from starring on the Lifetime program The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition last year, former Moesha star Shar Jackson has mostly been out of the public eye for the last few years. However, she’s being somewhat shoved back into it due to a family dispute. The 40-year-old has been ordered to stay away from her granddaughter after being accused by the child’s father of leaving her with a gash on her face.

Actor Chris Massey (brother of That’s So Raven star Kyle Massey) has 2-year-old Mariah with Cassie (also known as Cassalei) Jackson, Shar’s oldest daughter. According to TMZ, Massey claims that he dropped the child off with her mother and Shar back in May for a few weeks. When he went back to get her after the visit, Mariah had a gash, about four inches, across her forehead.
He alleges that when he confronted Shar about the cut after Mariah claimed that it was her grandmother who caused it, she supposedly said that she will “do whatever she wants.” But Massey isn’t allowing that because he sought out court ordered protection for Mariah against Shar. A judge has reportedly granted the request and Shar has been ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from her granddaughter. The actress has since responded to the claims and order against her through a rep who denies everything.
“Shar categorically denies all of this nonsense, as it it [sic] completely fabricated and from the mouth of a very troubled individual,” the rep said. “Period.”
As for the “troubled individual” claims Shar and her rep are launching at Massey, they might be speaking in reference to his own past with being accused of violence. Massey was arrested and booked for misdemeanor domestic violence last spring after getting into an argument with Cassie at the nightclub Marquee in Las Vegas. He was alleged to have pushed her and was apprehended before being released on bail. However, she didn’t press charges and those with Chris and Cassie said that she accidentally fell and security assumed he pushed her because they were seen arguing.
As for Shar, she is a mother of four. Aside from Cassie, who was born in 1994, her oldest child is son Donnie, born in 1993. Her two oldest are children from a relationship with her high school boyfriend. Her youngest children, daughter Kori (born in 2002) and son Kaleb (born in 2004), are children from her past relationship with Kevin Federline.
