1. “Cheerleader” by OMI

OMI’s “Cheerleader” may seem like an overnight success but the song has been seven years in the making. The dancehall reggae artist wrote the song back in 2008 and it slowly climbed its way up the charts in his home country of Jamaica. “Cheerleader” is the first reggae song to claim the number one spot of the Billboard chart since 1993. OMI’s debut album is expected to hit shelves next month.
