He has struggled with alcoholism for more than a decade. In 2002, he checked himself into the Betty Ford clinic. But his stay there wasn’t long. He left after one day. And ended up in a hotel room where he had too much to drink, which then led to the emergency room. He said he needed one more night of drinking, but as a result, he realized he hit rock bottom. He went back to the clinic because he did not want to let his family down.
