In 2007 former G-Unit rapper “The Game” released a pretty disrespectful track titled “Wouldn’t Get Far” where he discussed some of the scandalous things that video vixens do behind the scenes to get ahead. On the track, there was a line about former video model Melyssa Ford, which goes:

“And all these new video b***es trying to be Melyssa Ford

But they don’t know Melyssa Ford drive a Honda Accord

She a video vixen, but behind closed doors

She do whatever it take to get to the Grammy Awards”

During a recent chat with Shade 45’s Sway Calloway, the “Blood, Sweat and Heels” star discussed the 2007 diss and as to be expected, she wasn’t thrilled about it.

“Yeah I think I heard it one or two times. [It was something like] ‘Every video model wants to be Melyssa Ford, but what you don’t know is Melyssa Ford drives a Honda Accord and would do anything to go to the Grammy Awards.’ Something to that effect.”

“I have been to the Grammys,” she continued. “I have never driven a Honda Accord. I won’t even drive shotgun in those motherf–kers as a result.”

The vixen-turned-real-estate-agent then went on to explain how she learned that she was mentioned on the song.

“So here’s the story. DJ Clue calls me up, because that’s the homie, and he’s like ‘Aye yo M, did you even diss Game?’ And I was like, ‘The rapper? No.’ He was like, ‘So he never tried to kick it to you and you told him [to] kiss ya a**’ ‘No, why?’ ‘He put your name in a song.’ I was like, ‘Oh, is it good?’ ‘Well…’ ‘Is it on a mixtape?’ ‘Uh-uh, it’s on the album.’ ‘Is it on the B-side?’ ‘I think it’s the next single.’ Like, oh f**k, send that s**t to me please.’”

While she initially found the mention to be funny, the song caught on quickly and she felt the line was blown out of proportion.

“So he sends it to me and I listen to it and I bust out laughing because it was funny to me. Melyssa Ford, Honda Accord…Grammy Awards f**k you motherf**er, but okay. Whatever. But then it caught on like wildfire. It spread like a virus. Oh god. It was horrible. It was horrible. I swear to god I wanted to kick him in his f**kin’ throat.”

As for her relationship with The Game, it appears to be all love.

“Every time he sees me he’s like, ‘Ms. Ford, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything by it.’ I’m just like, ‘Whatever.’ I didn’t take anything personally, but it got made into such a big deal. Another cross to bear.”

The reality star adds that she wasn’t one of those models who slept with rappers.

“I wasn’t afraid to tell the artist, ‘Could you be respectful? Could you keep your hands above my waist and below my breasts?’ ‘Cause I’ll slap the dog sh*t out of you. Please don’t.’ They were always very respectful,” she candidly told Sway. I was literally known as the ‘Queen of No’ on video sets. Anybody could tell you that. Interview Hype Williams, Little X, anybody that was on production. They knew Melyssa wasn’t down for a lot of stuff. Wardrobe choices. Even certain songs for music videos I wouldn’t do because I didn’t agree with the lyrical content. I was like, ‘I can’t represent this.’”
