In 2001, Jesse Jackson revealed that he had cheated on his wife with Karin Stanford, a worker at his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition office, and that their affair had produced a child. In a statement to the public, Jackson said “This is no time for evasions, denials or alibis. I fully accept responsibility and I am truly sorry for my actions.”
