Almost Doesn’t Count! Celebs Who Never Quite Made It Down The Aisle!
For many, once you’ve been dating awhile and all seems to be going well, the next step is marriage. That’s true for both celebs and non-celebs. Unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned; the next thing you know, the engagement is off and people are moving on with their lives. These are just a few of the celebs who’ve called off an engagement. One of them has done it twice…
Remember when Kelly and Roy Williams (Dallas Cowboy at the time) were engaged and she was everywhere? Kelly was even on the cover of Modern Bride magazine talking about everything that she couldn’t wait for when it came to her own wedding. It wasn’t meant to be though because there was allegedly some cheating on Roy’s part and Kelly had to move on.
After he broke his promise to the late Mr. Rainey about marrying his daughter on “Never Let Me Down,” life lead Kanye to Alexis Phifer. It took me a minute to warm up to them as a couple but she was what he needed: a grown a** woman. She was pretty, had her own life and they truly enjoyed each other. The relationship lasted six years but the engagement was called off and they went their separate ways.
It is purely coincidental that the title of this piece is named after a song Miss Brandy recorded. About 8 years or so ago, Brandy and NBA player Quentin Richardson were a pretty hot couple. She even got his face tatted on her back. But something went wrong, the engagement was called off and B-Rocka got the tat covered. These days Brandy is hoping her man Ryan will propose to her and QRich got married last weekend.
Now that I look back, Lance and Eva were definitely a smoking hot couple! They were fun and both kept their own careers going while supporting each other. It was clear from the start that their path was leading to marriage and the engagement solidified that. But something went terribly wrong and they broke up. There were subliminal tweets exchanged for a minute as they both figured out a way to sift through their feelings.
A 10 year relationship, including the one year engagement, and Zoe and her boo called it all off last year. I really wonder what happened. Could her star have been getting brighter? Were one of them cheating? Did they just grow apart?
You can’t tie a good bachelor down. Simon thought he’d finally found a lady to settle down with in hairstylist Mezhgan but then he thought about it and changed his mind. Personally, I was surprised he’d even proposed because Simon really does come across as the forever bachelor.
I think, and this is just my opinion, Nick Cannon really dodged a bullet by not marrying Selita. She comes across as wanting to be with the “next big thing” and perhaps Nick wasn’t getting there fast enough. The engagement didn’t last long at all and after it was over, Selita even spoke publicly about Nick’s “manhood.” Tacky.
Would you believe that The Game has been down this road twice? As you know, he and his lady Tiffany broke up earlier this week (after signing on to do a reality show, no less) but he was also engaged about three years ago to Valeisha Butterfield. It seems The Game just isn’t ready to married.
