Keyshia Cole Finally Lets It Go—Covers Up Ex Hunxho’s Name With Fresh Ink

Keyshia Cole is finally ready to “Let It Go.” 

The singer has found time to remove her ex-boyfriend, Hunxho’s, name off of her chest right in the middle of her The Way It Is 20th Anniversary Tour. Hollywood Unlocked reshared a video of Cole with tattoo artist and Black Ink Crew: Chicago star Ryan Henry. In the July 7 Instagram clip, she reclined in a chair with the top part of her chest exposed. Henry, wearing black gloves, wiped the area as he prepared to give her some fresh ink. 

Cole seemed to be in good spirits in the video, captioning it with “Thank God Covered.” 

In a surprising twist, she paired the clip with Hunxho’s 2024 track “Thank God.” 

The snippet featured the Atlanta artist rapping, “Thank God for the help. Thank God he was there. Thank God for my life. Remember times when I ain’t care. Thank God I got right. I got tired of sitting in jail. Thank God for these stripes. But don’t label me a ref.”

It’s unclear what Cole plans to replace Hunxho’s name with, but this move comes just over a month after she expressed doubt about removing it in the first place. Host Loren Lorosa asked her about removing the tattoo during a May 29 interview on The Breakfast Club.

“I don’t know yet. I just haven’t did it,” Cole said. She explained she wasn’t focused on it because she was busy preparing for the upcoming performances. At the time of the interview, Cole was getting ready for the BET Awards and the start of her 20th Anniversary Tour. 

She told the radio crew, “If it happens, it’s like cool. I’m not in a rush to get no tattoo covered up right now. I’m not in a rush to date right now. I just want to appreciate the moment for what it is right now.” 

It’s not clear if Hunxho caught wind of Cole removing his name. But after her post, he shared a short clip of boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis on his Instagram Story. 

Davis, who was speaking to a crowd said, “They love you and then they hate you. Turn around, they’ll love you again.” The clip was from the night in March 2025 when Davis took a knee during his fight against Lamont Roach Jr. 

While Hunxho didn’t direct the video to anyone, it’s possible he was responding to Keyshia. 

Cole, 43, and Hunxho, 25, confirmed they were dating in April of last year. Their relationship was on and off for a few months, with some drama sprinkled in. But by March, it seemed their split was permanent when Cole confirmed that she was single.
