Another major sign that it’s time to end the relationship is when resentment starts to build. Even the smallest actions, like leaving the toilet seat up, can set you off, or old anger from past conflicts may resurface. If resentment lingers and refuses to go away, it may be a clear indication that it’s time to part ways.
However, if you and your partner are willing to communicate openly, you may be able to identify the root cause of the issue, says James.
“Resentment doesn’t just go away on its own. The root cause needs to be addressed and openly communicated to see if it is something you can forgive, don’t suppress your feelings,” he added to the New York Post.
