The most jarring thing about her experience for me was having to walk past all of those protestors, screaming and judging folks right before they got the procedure. It sounded traumatizing, and back then, I never considered that part of her experience. Years later, I had the opportunity to ask her, how did it feel to have to walk through all of that chaos?
