She first came on the Hollywood scene in the powerful role of Precious in the movie of the same name. Amber Riley

The former Glee star and singer, who nowadays goes by RILEY, encouraged women to not be afraid to shoot their shot at men in an effort to find love. It paid off. You couldn’t help but share her joy when she announced her engagement to boyfriend Desean Black in the most modern way — on Instagram.

“There was a time when I thought I didn’t want or deserve this kind of love. I’m looking at a man who changed my mind,” she wrote. “My time by myself, loving on myself, getting comfortable with myself, prepared me for you, and prepared me for this. I am so proud to say, I am the future Mrs. Black.”

Tiffany Pollard

Bold, smart, outspoken, and fun-loving, Tiffany “New York” Pollard launched an interesting career in reality television, appearing on many shows throughout the years that featured her in various entertaining situations. Now she’s taking on marriage. She is engaged to an unidentified groom-to-be. While the Tiffany Pollard we know is far from shy, she has chosen to keep certain details to herself, and we respect that. However, she was excited to share the news and say that her fiancé is “amazing.”

Doing this experience has taught me my love language,” she said of filming I Love New York. “It has brought me full circle as a woman. To find love the way I did, I stopped looking for it and it literally found me. I’m engaged. It’s just 21 days old.”

Monyetta Shaw

When Monyetta Shaw and singer Ne-Yo called it quits after about four years and two kids, we couldn’t help but feel for her when she was a star on VH1’s Atlanta Exes. She had planned to be with the crooner for the rest of her life, so much so that she went ahead and got his name tattooed on her and had her tubes burned because they had the boy and girl they wanted. He quickly moved on, so we hoped Shaw would be able to find the right man for her. She has! The beauty announced her engagement in June and spoke about her future husband, Heath, publicly for the first time in July.

“Honestly, he was such a good dude and a good person,” she said. “I knew, I want to say almost immediately [that he was The One]”

Jasmine Tookes

Victoria’s Secret angel Jasmine Tookes can leave you in awe of her beauty every time she works the runway or blesses the pages of a print spread. Her very existence brings much-needed representation to the modeling world, and women of all backgrounds admire her. Sometimes it’s the most gorgeous among us who have the biggest struggles in finding love. You may think these amazing beauties can snap their fingers and find true love, but just like you, it’s a journey. Fortunately, Tookes has found her love in Snapchat executive Juan David Borrero. He took her to a secluded outdoor scene where he spelled out “WYMM” using rocks as they enjoyed a catered meal of Popeye’s (her favorite). Of course, she said yes and is now set to turn the wedding aisle into a runway in 2021.

Beverly Johnson

The legendary model announced her engagement at 67 to financier Brian Maillian in July, proving it’s never too late to find love again. The beauty had been married twice before, and for years, she believed she was over and done with holy matrimony. She had a change of heart with Maillian, though.

“I was like how the heck did that happen? I was saying I’m never going to get married again,” she told PEOPLE.

Going about engagements in a unique way, Johnson said she told her future husband she didn’t want a ring, but instead, some real estate.

“I said ‘Brian, I don’t know how to say this but I don’t want a diamond ring, let’s buy a house instead.'”

Sierra Gates

The couple, who many know from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, have had a somewhat complicated relationship on-camera. Off-camera, though, they’ve been able to make things work and be happy. The two are now so happy that Brasco proposed to Gates in front of loved ones at the opening of his business, Band of Brothers. The couple will have a blended family, as she has two children from her first marriage to fellow Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Shooter, and Brasco reportedly has two children of his own from previous relationships. We could be wrong, but we have a feeling the wedding will end up on the show.

Jeannie Mai

For those who are fans of Jeannie Mai on The Real, you know she’s taken people on the ride that is her relationship with rapper Jeezy on the show. The couple shocked everyone when it was announced earlier this year that they had become engaged. It was a major decision for Mai, who had a very public divorce after 10 years of marriage to Freddy Harteis.

“The thing I think that saved me is that I never gave up on love,” she said of the news of her engagement. “I never gave up on love because it’s so omnipresent. It’s so healing that the only reason I recognize healthy love with Jay today is because I took that time to love myself.”

Mimi Faust

While Mimi Faust has been unlucky at love on TV (her love triangle with Stevie J and Joseline Hernandez on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta opened the door for the many, many love triangles that would follow but not be as interesting). When it comes to off-camera though, she’s been doing just fine. Faust and longtime girlfriend Ty Young announced their engagement in August after beginning their relationship in 2016.

“Timing is everything. I’ve been trying to surprise her since August 2019,” Young said of the engagement. “From ring complications with the ring designer and more; we’re finally HERE!”

Kierra Sheard

The singer has been open about the struggle to date as a single Christian woman, but it seems being patient (and prayerful) helped Sheard find her Mr. Right. When she announced her engagement to Jordan Kelly on Instagram, you felt like your little cousin was getting married.

“I can’t believe it!!!!,” she said at the time. “You’re everything I’ve always wanted. I can’t wait to do life with you! Thank you for choosing me! You’re an answer to my prayers. The man in my dream is now my reality. What????!!!! God has His way of doing things, and through you, He’s shown me that if I trust Him, all will be well; and OH MY GOD— ALL IS WELL! Dr. Seuss once said, ‘You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.’…man, I get it now. Everyday I look forward to you! I love you.”

No date is set yet, but she’s already started dress shopping so the date can’t be too far off.
