It would be interesting to know exactly why Karen was crying. Does she have genuine affection for Miles? Is she troubled by the thought of him rejecting her? Does she see the error in her ways? Does she realize how challenging his masculinity might have dampened the relationship. What is it? Either way, if it was any of those reasons (except the rejection), I think that’s a sign that Karen is not as checked out as she may appear.
