It’s no secret that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has not been entirely embraced by the people of the United Kingdom. In fact, it seems that they have gone out of their way to nitpick and complain about her “differences.” And of course, it doesn’t help that the White side of family went through a spurt where they were acting up, doing everything in their power to besmirch her name before she had time to even give the people a chance to learn who she was based on her own merits.
But the abuse Markle has been subjected to, has largely perpetrated by the White folk across the pond. Because Markle is American, the assumption would be that the American people would support having one of our own in the Royal Family. Still, Markle transverses the world as a Black woman. And in this racist country, race trumps nationality.
So today, perhaps unsurprisingly, Page Six tweeted about how Markle’s trip to South Africa has helped repair her “tarnished” image.
And in the fashion of Black folk defending our own against the man, folks jumped in to let Page Six know exactly where they had Meghan f*cked up.
