Serena Williams just showed us what hue of blonde we need to show a hairstylist for our new summer color. The tennis icon attended the Sports Illustrated Fashionable 50 in a tan patent leather knee-length skirt, beige top, and long, gorgeous honey blonde hair. Let’s get one thing straight, Serena looks flawless no matter what color she decides to wear, but this lighter shade is perfection. Hairstylist Vernon François gave her perfectly constructed loose curls that showed off her chic, playful side.

Williams is on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Fashionable Fifty issue. It is quite the honor to be named as one of the most fashionable athletes. Williams has a sense of style that is very personal to her. She knows how to mix sexy and comfort together in a way that makes her a bit of a fashion icon. Who else do you know makes headlines with every single tennis ensemble?

Williams isn’t the only person to trade in their darker hair for light, summery blondes. I guess blondes really do have more fun? Just a few days ago, Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams posed for the camera with blonde hair. Porsha went for loose waves, while Cynthia opted for an afro. Both women are likely filming for the new season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.

We are no stranger to women switching up their hair. We change our hair like we change our socks. That’s the beauty of being a black woman. Under these weaves and wigs lie a head of long, healthy hair. Still, these blonde styles, whether temporary or permanent for a few weeks, are worth me running to the hair salon with these photos as style inspiration. What do you think? Would you entertain a color change like Serena Williams, Porsha Williams, or Cynthia Bailey?
