Of all of the people it’s easiest to shop for in terms of special holidays, kids are usually at the top of the list. They like big toys, small toys, and when that doesn’t work — more toys. However, rapper Future took things up a notch over the weekend when he threw baby Future a superhero-themed 5th birthday party. At the event, he surprised his son with a very nice Rolex watch. It’s a gift most people would love, but then again, lil Future just turned 5, so his reaction was what one would expect from a child:
Now, just because the rapper bought Future a pricey watch doesn’t mean he didn’t buy him toys, too. According to his InstaStories, there were plenty of toys, but that was just the only thing the public saw, and of course, social media had plenty of thoughts. There were many people who defended him, saying that he is welcome to do whatever he pleases for his child with his own money. Still, there were those who criticized the move, claiming the child’s stepfather, Russell Wilson, wouldn’t do such a thing. In fact, “Papa Russ” and Ciara threw the child a party that featured a lot of kids and their own take on a superhero-themed cake:
Wilson also shared a very heartfelt message in honor of Future’s birthday.
“From the moment we came into each other’s worlds to now… 5 years later, you have changed my life and my heart for the better,” he wrote on Instagram. “You are the greatest gift I could have ever asked God for! I will always love you, guide you, teach you, and care for you. Happy 5th Birthday Future! Papa Russ Loves you!”
However, despite all of the opinions (“Rolex” was trending on Twitter on Sunday because of all of this), big Future was unmoved by it all. His focus was on celebrating his “twin.”
“My twin made Five today I pray u keep this smile on your face,” he wrote. “I pray the love in your heart stay safe I pray God protect u Frm anything that will try to steal your happiness away.”
