Though she did Tiny & Toya before and T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle presently, the one show Toya Wright wouldn’t touch was Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, despite being offered a spot. Of course, the chance was given in the hopes that there would be an opportunity to get former cast member K. Michelle and Wright’s then-husband, Memphitz, a chance to speak on the singer’s allegations of abuse (which were proven to be true).

“[Memphitz] wanted me to go on the show. Well, the producer wanted me on the show, but that’s not really my thing and I was like, ‘No, we’re newlyweds. And we have kids,'” she said. “That show don’t really represent what I represent as a woman. It’s just not for me.”

When she chose not to take part, it created a major rift in her marriage.

“He felt like it was my fault he didn’t go on the show and he had the opportunity to defend himself,” she said. “At that point, we had just got married and to go on a show and argue with your ex, even for me to be put in that situation, I just felt like it was too much. I don’t want my husband on a TV show, going back and forth with his ex [while] we’re trying to move forward. You’re in another relationship. That’s your past.”
