Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey stopped by the Wendy Williams Show to chat with fill-in host Nick Cannon. The model and reality star looked beautiful, but what stood out was her 8AM hair glam!
Theo Barrett, who is a hairstylist for the Wendy Williams Show (and other celebrities) posted this photo to Instagram and we were swooning over how fabulous Bailey looked! We caught up with Barrett, who also owns his own hair extension line, and he revealed exclusively to Madame Noire how to get the look.
Barrett admitted to a great wig slay is all about the foundation. He told Madame Noire, “The key to every good wig/unit is simply customizing it to work for you. That starts with bleaching the knots on the lace of your wig to perfectly cut layers in your tresses.” Bailey’s tresses are definitely layered, giving a voluminous and full glam look.
For styling Cynthia’s hair, Barrett started by sectioning the hair into three parts. He started in the back of the hair and explained, “I wrapped the hair around a 1″ barrel curling iron the same way you would use a wand iron to achieve these super loose waves.” He started in the back and then did this same step on the other two sections. Barrett admits, “this hairstyle is so fun and easy.”
The best part of this hairstyle is that it improves as the day goes by. Barrett stated with a smile, “I personally like it more as the hours pass and the curls begin to fall.” Yes! Here’s hair that will take you from 9 to 5 to after 5PM!
