The next few weeks of “The Wendy Williams Show” should be very interesting as producers fill the top host’s spot with guest appearances after Williams announced an indefinite departure due to her complications with Graves’ disease, after suffering a fractured shoulder.
On Tuesday, the program’s official Instagram account announced Nick Cannon was stepping up to the plate to take on the gig.
Cannon will host from February 4-6, as the first single host since Williams’ departure in December. Cannon has a pretty packed schedule as the host of MTV’s Wildin’ Out and Fox’s new hit, The Masked Singer.
Last month, the two shared a little viral moment when Williams referred to Cannon’s third child as an “oops baby.” Cannon took the hit in good stride and clapped back with a post showing that all of his children were equally wanted and loved.
Since December the show has aired previous episodes, but returned this week featuring a panel of celebrity guests including chef Carla Hall.
In January, Williams released a statement saying that she would need to take a break in order to recover from complications she’s experienced from Graves’, an autoimmune disorder that causes an overactive thyroid.
In 2018, after announcing her diagnosis, Williams took a three-week hiatus to tend to her health. We’re wishing Williams a speedy recovery in the meantime!
