Rachel True Shares Why She Looks So Youthful At 52
Many black women who are 45 and over amaze us with how youthful they look. Women like Angela Bassett, Gabrielle Union, Halle Berry, Mary J. Blige and many more prove that age ain’t nothing but a number and they defy the idea that the older you get, the older you look. Another actress that looks incredibly young is Rachel True, who we remember from the UPN sitcom Half & Half where she starred alongside Essence Atkins.
True, who is 52-years-young, recently took to Twitter to respond to the women who have been asking her what her secrets are to not aging. True said the key to her look is actually her clean diet. She revealed that she abstains from alcohol, sugar, meat and drugs to make sure her black doesn’t crack.
True recently made headlines after she told fans that she does not receive much residuals from the mid-2000’s sitcom she starred in. When responding to a fan who asked for Half & Half on Blu-ray, she said what she wanted were residuals. She revealed that she didn’t know she was signing a contract that didn’t guarantee her a satisfactory income from the sitcom being syndicated and that she receives “very very little” a year.
“Some of my cast mates & their agents negotiated better residual deals, know what you’re signing, artists…won’t make that same mistake again. ; ),” she tweeted.
One thing she isn’t doing about her low residuals is stressing, which is probably what helps her slow down the aging process as well.
“Don’t be bitter, take in the lessons & make better life choices in the future… is how I keep it moving btw, dwelling on the negs never really helps.”
