When the holiday season approaches, aside from concerns about menus, gifts and decor, there is the overwhelming question of whether or not you’re finally going to bring your significant other home to meet your family.

If you’ve been dating someone special for a significant period of time, chances are your family (especially the elders) is clamoring to meet them. But such a big step in a relationship can be a deal-breaker, so you definitely want to make sure your guy is worthy — and ready — for an introduction. Here are a few signs it’s time to bring bae home.

He Actually Wants To Meet Your Family

This is key. Many times women can practically force their guy into meeting their family before they’re ready and in the end it never works out for anyone. However, if your man has actually expressed interest in meeting your family, it may be time to bring him home.

If he already wants to meet them then there is less chance that he will be awkward around them or say something that he shouldn’t. Let him express to you his readiness (or not) to meet the fam, and go from there.
