We can’t possibly be the only ones who’ve noticed the Notorious K.I.M has been looking less and less like Kimberly Denise Jones from Brooklyn, NY, as the days go by. First it was just a nose job, then maybe some butt implants, then came the cheek implants, lip contouring, and the most egregious of all, skin bleaching. After catching Kim out and about recently, we couldn’t help but wonder when and how she got to this point — not to mention why — so we took a little stroll down memory lane to see the unnatural progression of Lil Kim’s physical transformation. Zakia Baum is one of the stars of the new TLC reality show, “Starter Wives,” and if you saw the first episode Tuesday night, you’d know she’s  a bit…eccentric, shall we say. We chatted with her at the premiere for the new show last week and had to see just how changed the born-again “Christian Woman” is from her days of trying to fight some of her cast members. We also had to know the status of her relationship with her ex and father of her child, Maino, after he dropped a rather disturbing song detailing ways he wanted to kill her. Let’s be clear, there are only like two or three people on this list who you could say look “bad” after delving into the world of plastic surgery. And while some might look okay with their enhancements and changes, if you ask us, they looked perfectly fine, if not fabulous, before they decided to mess with the knife, Botox and other things that changed their features dramatically. Tamar Braxton

It’s clear almost every woman in the Braxton clan has had a little somethin’ somethin’ done, but aside from Tamar, every other sister kind of knew when to quit. She doesn’t look bad per se (though some, like K. Michelle for instance, like to say she looks like a Muppet), but baby girl didn’t need the cheekbone changes and other work. And all the make up that her make up artist piles on, along with the big lacefronts, don’t do her true beauty justice.

“No matter what people say, we’ve got it going on!” I’m sure that’s what Kim and this group of…individuals surrounding her were thinking when they started snapping pics in Trio Nightclub in Miami over the weekend. But there was too much exposed boob (hence the heart), two-toned wigs, sequins, fishnet, beads and lashes to take all this seriously. The beloved MC, or femcee, hit up the night club in her brightest catsuit and put on her fiercest face for the cameras. All of these colorfully adorned people decided to jump in the pic and spread their love. While I can’t work with most of this, I will say that I would let some of these folks tutor me in proper fake eyelash installation. Work it honey!!!! As a genealogy buff, I’m fascinated by the composite of different races within blacks of African descent. Apparently, I’m not alone. Some of us love to let others know that we are more than just black. This almost goes hand in hand with people that love to tell others that their curls aren’t as tight as the rest of ours because they claim to be mixed with something. Yeah, whatever. But there is something to be said about being proud of one’s origin. Knowing where we came from is an integral part of knowing who we are. Unfortunately, many of us don’t know our genetic makeup due to lack of historically relevant data, money (for genealogical testing), or interest in knowing our backgrounds. Maybe if more of us did, we too could be like these nine celebs that are proud (some maybe too proud at times) of their diverse lineage.

Tamar Braxton is a good example of the reasoning that just because something exists, it doesn’t mean you should wear it. This woman is guilty of a little bit too much make-up. The MTV VMAs air tonight to celebrate the music videos they hardly ever play and hopefully bring about some yearly controversy. The show promises to be an over the top spectacle just as in years past, with alleged drama to come as MTV has practically been trying to get Chris Brown, Rihanna and Drake to sit next to each other. With backing from Slash, he performed for more than 10-minutes, and pumped out a medley of his greatest hits such as “Billie Jean,” “Dangerous,” “Beat It,” “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” and “Black or White.” Once again, he showed why there was everyone else and why there was just one Michael Jackson by putting on a mini concert.
