To be completely honest, we, the editors of MadameNoire, don’t exactly hold Future in high regard around here. While one of us (I won’t call any names) happens to be a fan of his music, we can all admit that the way he played Ciara during and after their breakup, was pretty gross. Then again, given his list of baby mamas, none of us were surprised…at all.
What is surprising though is the fact that Future, in speaking to Flaunt Magazine, tried to paid himself as some type of stand up dude. When the publication asked what is the biggest misconception about Future the man, he said:
“That I’m just some kind of dude that, if I’m in a relationship, that I’m a cheater, that I just dog women out. It comes from just the image. Certain things I don’t speak on, but it’s not true. That’s the part of me that has to suffer sometimes. But I feel like in due time people will understand I’m the most caring, loving person they’ll probably ever meet.”
I mean, I just can’t. I know what I think and feel in my spirit. But for those who still need receipts, we’ve got a few for you.

When the news of Ciara and Future calling off their engagement hit the airwaves, it was a source who put forth the reason for the breakup.
“He cheated on her. Game over.”
The lyrics for the first song Ciara released after the breakup told a very clear story about what went down and why she had to be out. And in case you don’t remember them, here they are below.
So I’m s’posed to believe that it’s Fellini’s calling your phone?
I’m s’posed to believe that they’re asking you if you’re home?
I wasn’t born yesterday, not me
Can’t get that over me, not me
I love you, but I won’t be a fool for you
That is just something that I wouldn’t do, babe
I mean, I’mma stay if you could tell the truth
But you can’t, no matter how much time I ask
Is that your b*tch over there, giving me the ugly stare?
The one with the silicone a*s, and the Brazilian hair?
You ain’t gon’ respect me no, no, no till I’m not there
See, I got you comfortable, now you ain’t really scared
But if Ciara’s lyrics don’t convince you, let’s take a look at Future’s, shall we? In his song “Low Life,” the rapper says: “If she catch me cheating, I will never tell her sorry If she catch me cheating, I will never tell her sorry.”
Twice. So there won’t be any misunderstandings.
“My Collection” was something like Future’s response to “I Bet.” In it, he speaks about the ending of their relationship. And in addition to acknowledging that if he hit once, you’re part of my collection, he seems to drop some self-incriminating lyrics.
“She caught a red eye, leavin’ L.A
I shoulda gave her to the valet
And I had to tell her ’bout Miami
After she came with no panty”
To the point about him being the sweetest and most loving guy, there are more than a few lyrics that point to that not being entirely true either. Particularly the part in “No Collection” where he speaks on Ciara’s dating and sexual history. Publicly speaking about the mother of your child and her past lovers? Very loving, indeed.
“She told me she was an angel
She f*cked two rappers and three singers
She got a few athletes on speed dial”

Even one of Future’s other baby momma’s Brittni Mealy spoke about the “real Future” during he and Ciara’s relationship before everything turned sour.
“I know the real ‘him,’ the part she [Ciara] doesn’t know. They are just ‘honeymooning’ right now. Everything always seems perfect in the beginning.”
And sure enough, once the relationship with CiCi was over, Future went back to Brittni.

But in addition to him being less than the best boyfriend, Future has also been disrespectful to their families as well. Brittni said that at one point he cussed her mother out.
“He made a phone call to my mom (obviously feeling like he can still control what I do, even though we are not together anymore ). My mom has always been kind to him and usually defends him. Because, I refused to speak to him…he proceeded to curse at my mother and call her out of her name! I was upset and emotional because, I am raising our newborn son and he has stopped assisting me with his care and now, he thinks he can disrespect my mother. It was too much. My son and my mother are dear to me. And, he crossed the line. We simply don’t deserve to be treated that way.”
Again, not all that loving.
Back to the lyrics.
“Got my d*ck sucked I was thinking about you/I was f*cking on a sl*t and I was thinking about you.”
His own words
I’m sure someone will argue that Future’s lyrical content is fantasy and not indicative of the life he actually leads, but by his own admission, earlier this year he seemed to offer some type of apology for causing hurt and heartbreak and even loving selfishly. I guess the first step is acknowledgement. We’re just wondering why he’s trying to project a different image all of a sudden?
