It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been together; you don’t get to just stop being romantic. This is a romantic relationship, is it not? Romance is what differentiates your girlfriend from your platonic friends, so it’s pretty darn important that you keep it up. And look, you aren’t a bad boyfriend if you’ve let the romance fall by the wayside—you’re actually a pretty standard one. Naturally, once you get comfortable with somebody and know that they know you love them, you start devoting a little more attention to other areas of your life again, and a little less attention to planning little surprises and thinking of cute gifts to get your boo.
