Beyoncé’s Soul Train-Themed Birthday Party Was Everything, And We Weren’t Even Invited

September 6, 2016  |

While you were probably somewhere wining at a backyard BBQ last night, Beyonce spent her labor day celebrating her 35th birthday (which was on September 4). She had a Soul Train party set in the 1970s, and invited all of her celebrity friends to come through. Of course, they had to dress the part to attend, so you know the stars went all out:

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were matching mates:

Usher, with a supersized ‘fro, and Jay Z, dressed pretty much like Jimi Hendrix, snapped a picture together:

Hey, La La and Carmelo:

Kendrick Lamar and his fiancee also stepped out in style:

A side view of the platforms because they make the outfit, of course:

Solange, her son Julez and hubby Alan Ferguson all looked very chic — as to be expected:

After her 308th Grand Slam win, Serena Williams stopped by Bey’s party:

Diddy looking like a pimp named Slickback and his lady, Cassie:

Stylist June Ambrose looked fierce, as usual:

Chanel Iman, who I adored in a bell-sleeved and bell-bottom number:

Loving this look on supermodel Joan Smalls:

Jourdan Dunn was also a stunner:

Janelle Monae was a houndstooth dream:

Michelle Williams went for a Cher look to her stylist Diandre’s Sonny:

Kelly Rowland was there to give Donna Summer realness:

Musicians Chloe and Halle also looked mighty fierce:

And Chance the Rapper came through dressed like Shaolin Fantastic from The Get Down:

Check out more images from Bey’s 35th birthday bash and get some ideas for your own upcoming celebrations (Because clearly my game night and pizza idea is not going to cut it…):

Absolutely, positively here for all of it.
