Are you a single woman who smokes and feels like it may be costing you the chance to meet your future love? You may not be imagining the rejection you’re running into once men find out you’re a smoker. I was surprised to find that there’s a dating site geared specifically toward smokers; it’s called puffingsingles.com. Huh? I guess it makes sense. In the dating and relationship game you have to accept people for who they are. If you meet them as a smoker, there’s a good chance they will continue to be one. So what should you do if you’re a woman who smokes and keeps running into men who tell you that your habit is a deal breaker? I would say that quitting smoking would be at the top of my list for more reasons than one. There are obvious health risks associated with smoking that you should consider which far outweigh being single, but you may be able to kill two birds with one stone. Here are some of the things I’ve heard that men think about women who smoke:

-“Her hair, clothes, breath, and living space reek of smoke”

-“A smoking woman is more likely to be promiscuous.”

-“She has an addictive personality.”

-“She’s not going to age well and will die before me.”

Okay, so there’s no arguing that a woman that smokes tends to carry the stench in her clothing, hair and even leaves remnants of the scent around her humble abode. As far as a smoking woman being more promiscuous, this may not be too far from the truth because with smoking sometimes comes drinking which can lead to throwing caution to the wind. Being addicted to one substance can also mean that you are more likely to test the waters with other unhealthy pastimes that provide false comfort and a means of dealing with stress and anxiety. ill you die sooner than a woman who doesn’t smoke? The odds are definitely less in your favor when it comes to this.

If you are considering kicking your smoking habit this year, here are a few tips to help you get started:

-Pick a date and stick to it. Make the commitment to yourself and your loved ones

-Talk to a medical professional about your decision

-Surround yourself with others who have the same goal

-Find a partner to quit with you

-Find realistic substitutes for smoking to avoid relapse and the yo-yo quitters experience.

You can do it ladies!

Has smoking affected your dating life? Is your partner a smoker?
