It’s a common practice for singers to commission other people to write hit songs for them. But Keri Hilson decided to call Beyonce out in her 2009 “Turnin Me On (Remix)” and sung, “She can sing, but need to move it ‘to the (left)’/ She need to go have some babies/ She needs to sit down, she fadin’/ Go ‘head and tell them folks how long I been writing your songs/ I been puttin you on, just check the credits ho.” That didn’t go over well with Beyonce’s fans and Hilson’s music was thoroughly trashed online. Hilson’s disdain for Beyonce runs deep and she once reportedly refused to hold up a magazine because Jay and Bey were on the cover.
