We told you last week that after an outpouring of love from fans wishing, hoping and waiting for Melanie and Derwin to make a return to “The Game” for the final season, Tia Mowry confirmed that it won’t happen:

“The [love] I am receiving from fans of Melanie on ‘The Game’ is so amazing and touching! I couldn’t just ignore. I had amazing 5 yrs on the show and feel so blessed to be[sic] have been a part of it:) Many are asking if I am making a return for the last year, and the answer is no. But again, I felt so blessed, so blessed, to have played Melanie Barnett!‪#‎melanieandderwinforever‬.”

As it turns out, soon after, Pooch Hall also decided to say that he too is “def done” with the show and that he has another show to think about in Showtime’s Ray Donovan, so people need to move on already.

That still wasn’t necessarily enough for Hall’s followers, who felt that because Tia and Pooch made the show as Melanie and Derwin, they should come back. In response, he said that BET had a chance to bring him back, but they backed out of the deal, so he’s not interested in making a return:

“i mean i cant speak for her but im def done… they didnt ask me to come back well they did like a year n half a go i said yes then it fell apart… so i just concentrated on my new show #RayDonovan on #showtime”

“its over boo…they had the chance to have me…”

“they done its a wrap ive moved onto #RayDonovan @showtime is my new network n home…get at me over there…”

This isn’t the first time that Hall has talked about how he was supposed to return to “The Game” in the past, only for those plans to fall through. He said in 2013 that the way BET did him was “hurtful”

My contract had ended and BET said, ‘We’re gonna get you on for season 6.’ I literally booked “Ray Donovan” a week out. And when we were making my deal with Showtime, they knew how strong my fan base was so…..Showtime said you still can work over at “The Game.” And when I went back to BET with news and was like let’s make this work, they didn’t return my phone calls or emails. Everyone was like why’d you’d leave “The Game” and I was like “I didn’t leave.” It was hurtful. I felt that we all made “The Game” what is it today.

While it’s nice that people would love to see Tia and Pooch make a return to “The Game,” with or without them, it’s time for that show to go and for folks to let Melanie and Derwin go too…
