Chris Brown and Trey Songz

Since he’s been released from jail, Chris Brown has been a very busy man. He made his return to the stage during the BET Awards a couple months ago and he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. The “Don’t Judge Me” singer, who will be dropping his “X” album in the fall, has announced he will be going on tour with fellow R&B singer Trey Songz. Brown made the announcement on his twitter page: “THIS FALL is gonna be legendary! Get ready for me and @TreySongz Tour.”

Lil Wayne and Drake

Lil Wayne is the head of his own label and one of the smartest business decisions he’s ever done was sign Drake to Young Money. While they’ve joined each other on the road before, this summer Weezy and Drake embarked on a full length joint tour. They kicked things off earlier this month in upstate New York. The rappers are giving their fans the chance to pick which artist will open up and can vote using a mobile app that was released to coincide with their tour.

Jay Z and R. Kelly

What was supposed to be an epic and history-making tour ended up in disaster. Jay Z and R. Kelly brought the “Best of Both Worlds” to their fans by first recording an album together before going on tour. Things went off without a hitch until Jay and Kellz made their way to a three-night engagement at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. R. Kelly claimed that he was scared for his life because someone waved a gun at him in the crowd while Jay Z alleged the R&B singer was jealous that the audience showed him more love. Either way, the “Trapped In The Closet” singer pulled out of the tour and Jay Z brought in some of his famous rapping and singing friends like Mary J. Blige, Usher and Ja Rule on the road with him.

Jay Z and Kanye West

Jay Z and Kanye West collaborated with each other for years before but they teamed up together for the “Watch The Throne” album. Following its release, the two chart-topping rappers went on a tour of epic proportions together. Due to heavy demand for tickets, their performances were extended from 23 to 34 tour stops in the U.S. and Canada. After they wrapped up the North American leg, Hov and Yeezy went across the pond and toured throughout Europe.

Jay Z and Beyonce

There is no bigger couple in music than Jay Z and Beyonce. Their relationship started out after the two collaborated on a song together more than a decade ago and since then they’ve been featured on each other’s songs numerous times. It was just a matter of time before the two would go on tour and after 10-plus years together their “On The Run” tour kicked off earlier this year amid rumors of marital strife. Despite allegations of cheating and a separation after the tour, Beyonce has shared family photos of her husband and daughter Blue Ivy spending time together at almost every city they tour in.

Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller

Anyone who’s ever heard any of Wiz Khalifa’s music knows he loves his marijuana. The lanky Pittsburgh rapper recruited another marijuana aficionado rapper by the name of Mac Miller to join him on the “Under the Influence” tour in 2012. “I’m really excited for this tour, for the fans and as a fan of music myself. It’s gonna be trippy!” Khalifa said while Miller added, “I’m excited to go on a tour like this because it brings a group of individuals together to move across the country as a unit to showcase great music.”

Rihanna and Eminem

When Eminem decided to make a follow up to his massively popular Marshall Mathers LP last year, Rihanna provided vocals for the track “The Monster.” The song ended up at the top of the charts in the U.S as well as other countries around the world, paving the way for an Eminem/Rihanna mini-tour. The rapper and singer will visit just three cities and will hold court on stage for two nights at each stop. They kicked things off in Pasadena, CA and will make their way to East Rutherford, NJ before wrapping up in Detroit at the end of the month.

Eminem and Jay Z

Jay Z sure loves going on tour with other artists. Back in 2010, Jay Z and Eminem attended a baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers and made an announcement that sent their fans into overdrive. As part of “The Home & Home Tour,” both rappers would be co-headlining concerts at stadiums in their respective hometowns. The tour started off with just two dates but tickets were in such high demand that additional dates were added. Special guests that joined Jay and Em on stage included 50 Cent, Memphis Bleek, Jeezy, Beyonce, Kanye West and Chris Martin of Coldplay.

New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys

Back in the day, boy bands ruled the airwaves. New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys were extremely popular in their heyday and 20 years later, even though they were boys no more, both bands reunited for a nostalgic tour beginning in 2011. The “NKOTBSB” tour started its North American leg with numerous stops in the U.S. before they headed north of the border to perform in Canada followed by a tour overseas. Performing in 51 cities, the “NKOTBSB Tour” was one of the most successful tours of the year pulling in over $40 million.

112 and Jagged Edge

In the mid 90’s and early 2000’s, both 112 and Jagged Edge were popular R&B groups that had their own screaming fans but there was always a competition between the two Atlanta groups on who drives the ladies crazier. And back in 2003, they decided to plan a joint tour to settle the matter once and for all. “We feel that’s just friendly competition, ain’t nothing wrong with that,” 112’s Michael Keith said. “[It’s the] Lakers versus the Celtics. That’s the way we look at it. One of the questions was who was gonna be the opening act? So we figure if we switch — one night they open and one night they headline — that might work out. We feel like whatever it’s going to take for this tour to work. One night we’ll open for Jagged Edge. It’s no problem for us.”

Sade and John Legend

Singer Sade has one of the sweetest voices in R&B. After waiting an entire decade to drop some new music for her fans, the British singer released “Soldier of Love” in 2010. The following year, the reclusive singer announced that she would be going on a joint tour with none other than R&B crooner. The two singers spent the summer of 2011 crisscrossing the country together.

Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars

Following their show-stopping, old-school throwback performance together at the 2011 Grammy Awards ceremony, Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars teamed up for a joint tour. The retro pair went on the road together for a couple months as part of their “Wondaland” tour. They kicked it off with their first stop at the legendary Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan at the beginning of May and wrapped things up in Arizona at the end of June.
