The recent season of “R&B Divas: Atlanta” may have come to an end, but the drama ensues. According to The YBF, Angie Stone recently ditched her boyfriend and manager, Ashanti Grave.
If reports are correct, then Ashanti was busted for cheating with a member of the “R&B Divas: Atlanta” production crew. Sources claim that when Angie caught wind of the alleged affair, she blew up. The source also claims that the rumored affair is no secret and that Angie has spoken openly about it with several members of the reality show’s production team. Apparently, Angie had some pretty solid evidence to prove that the affair was going down—including phone records and receipts. An additional source, who is reported to be very close to the singer, also confirmed the split.
Like most couples, Angie and Ashanti had their share of issues, some of which played out last season. So far, Angie has yet to confirm the breakup, but it would be extremely unfortunate if their 9-year relationship came to an end this way. Just last month, Ashanti spoke with TV One about his relationship with the soul singer and what was holding up their trip down the aisle.
“I met Angie while working at the airport in Savannah, GA,” Ashanti told TV One. “We connected from the very beginning. We talked on the phone and when time permitted we met in person and we’ve been together ever since! It’s going on 9 years strong! I’ve been managing her for about 6 ½ to 7 years now in addition to a girl rap group (ages 8-9) named DSquared Live.
I love Angie! The love we have for each other is crazy BUT good and once all the pieces are in place there will be a marriage. When I said ‘when the time is right,’ I meant that we will do it [get married] because WE want to, not because the world wants us to. I’m not afraid of marriage. I am afraid of divorce. A happy marriage gets no publicity but a bad divorce gets more than its fair share.”
