Let’s Get Married: Our Favorite Celebrity Wedding Looks

It’s the most important date in a person’s life. But for celebrities, their wedding day is more than just making a commitment to someone they are — or think — they’re in love with. It’s a chance to break out the finest in bridal fashion and strut their stuff. So as your Facebook becomes cluttered with summer wedding photos and engagement announcements, we decided to add to the pile with our favorite celebrity wedding looks.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

The supermodel and the singing superstar tied the knot in a destination wedding in September 2013. After being engaged for nearly two years, Teigen spared no expense for her big day, rocking three incredible looks: A gorgeous ivory, strapless Vera Wang gown for the ceremony, a mermaid dress for her reception and finally a red gown for the wedding’s after party. Why pick one when you can have three?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Say what you will about Kim Kardashian, but the reality star sure knows how to get married. During each of her three attempts at lifelong happiness, Kim K. has dazzled. But in her recent wedding to Kanye West, she took her game to a whole new level. Donning a traditional Givenchy gown, Kardashian kept things relatively modest, making for an elegantly simple impact.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

Who would have thought that the once tom-boyish Alicia Keys would make such a stunning bride one day? The R&B songstress said “I Do” to fellow musician Swizz Beatz in a beautiful ceremony in a private home on the Mediterranean. Jaw-droppingly chic in a flowing, Grecian Vera Wang dress, Keys accentuated her look with a dazzling headpiece from Jacob & Co.

Michelle and Barack Obama

Maybe Michelle and Barack Obama’s nuptials weren’t the most stylish in the history of “I Do’s,” but if a picture is worth a thousand words, this photo of the happy couple says it all. With a casual chic-ness and effortlessly cool style to her, Michelle had a regal swagger years before she’d ever set foot in the White House.

Kate Middleton and Prince William

As cliche and expected as it may be to include them, we’d be remiss if we left out Kate Middleton and Prince William from our celebrity wedding style list. There’s no denying that these two are wonderfully good looking and photogenic. But it wasn’t until Kate rocked it out in a Sarah Burton designed, Alexander McQueen gown with long, lace sleeves and a flattering V-neck that the world recognized her prowess as a fashion icon.

LaLa Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony

After a fateful introduction, courtesy of DJ Clue, VJ LaLa Vazquez and NBA player Carmelo Anthony began dating and ultimately decided to take the marital plunge. In a star-studded New York City affair, Vazquez chose a lovely Vera Wang ballroom, complimented by a striking red bouquet. Vazquez’s glamorous, yet traditional choice was the perfect attire for the wedding’s posh Cipriani setting.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Talk about a style statement. Both brides looked incredible, yet stayed true to who they are. Both donning Zac Posen designs, DeGeneres went for an all-white, tailored suit, while her beautiful bride went for a stunning backless gown with a light pink tulle skirt. Two very different looks for too very different, yet perfectly matched brides. Bridal fashion genius to the fullest.

Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley

Tamera Mowry may not have had as star-studded or high-profile a wedding as some of the other honorees on our list, but that doesn’t mean the one-half of “Sister, Sister” didn’t knock us over with her fashion choice. Decked out in a flowing Carolina Herrera gown, Mowry shined on her special day. Flanked by gorgeous bridesmaids in beautiful light pink dresses, Mowry showed how far understated elegance can take a woman on her big day.

Monica and Shannon Brown

Killing it doesn’t begin to describe what Monica did on her wedding day to NBA baller Shannon Brown. While technically her second wedding to Brown (the couple did a quickie ceremony several months earlier), Monica sent jaws dropping with her mermaid gown by Stephane Rolland. Paired with $1 million worth of Joel Rosenberg jewels, the singer looked breathtaking.

Thalia and Tommy Mottola

Though his high-profile marriage to Mariah Carey didn’t exactly pan out, Tommy Mottola gave it another go with a well-known songstress. Mottola and Mexican singer Thalia tied the knot in grand fashion at St. Patricks Cathedral. The main attraction: the bride’s $350,000, 16-meter train gown by designer Mitzy. Not exactly our cup of tea, but a fashion feat no less.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale

Give this lovely lady a prize for originality! Gwen Stefani has always been a fashion trailblazer, but none moreso than when she walked down the aisle to marry rocker Gavin Rossdale. Stefani held it down in an ombre (before ombre was a thing) pink John Galliano for Dior gown. With her bright blonde locks, Stefani looked absolutely breathtaking on her big day.

Elizabeth Taylor

Which one you’re probably asking? We could make all manners of multiple marriage and divorce jokes, but there is no denying that Elizabeth Taylor knows how to blow the socks off her hubbies-to-be. Again and again she has captivated with her unconventional, elaborate wedding day style. While we probably could never pull off one of her signature looks, we thoroughly enjoyed watching her do so.
