The Apple Fell Far From The Tree: Celebs With Wild Siblings
We all have that one family member who will pop off at the drop of a dime and celebrities are no different. While these famous folks may know how to keep their composure, their wild siblings have no problem throwing down in a heartbeat.
All anyone has been talking about the past few days is surveillance cameras catching Solange Knowles attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z while his wife and her sister Beyonce stood by and watched in an elevator following a Met Gala after party. While there’s no sound to support the video, it’s clear that Solange was none too happy with the rap mogul and let her feelings be known through slaps and kicks. Neither Jay Z, Solange nor Beyonce have released a statement about the incident.
We knew Toni Braxton was the oldest child in a big family but it wasn’t until her family starred in the reality show “Braxton Family Values” that we got to know her four younger sisters. While they may fight and argue with each other on a daily basis, there’s no doubt that Toni, Towanda, Trina, Traci and Tamar would pull their wigs off and defend each other against someone else if need be.
They come from a musical family and most of them have dabbled in the entertainment industry at one point in time in their career. Fans have watched and read about the private lives of the Jackson family since The Jackson 5 became international stars in the late 70’s. Despite their best efforts to keep family tensions behind closed doors and out of the public eye, in 2012 youngest sibling Janet Jackson was caught on video arguing with her niece Paris Jackson outside of the family compound in California. The “That’s The Way Love Goes” singer had to be restrained by other family members which gave Paris the opportunity to escape her aunt’s wrath by darting off inside.
Keyshia Cole dropped her first single in 2004 and immediately made some noise in the music industry. She dropped her debut album The Way It Is the following year and it was so success, it helped the R&B singer land a reality show of the same name. The show premiered on BET and introduced the world to her mother Frankie and her sister Neffe. “The Way It Is” remains the highest rated show on BET and spawned a spin-off for Cole’s mother and sister. Cole certainly has a rough side to her but her older sister Neffe is definitely not one to play around with.
Da Brat and Lisa Raye are half-sisters and although one is a rapper and the other one is an actress, the two have similar personalities. Lisa Raye has never been one to back down and openly speaks her mind. Similarly, the So So Def rapper doesn’t shy away from confrontation either. In 2001, Da Brat pled guilty to pistol-whipping a female inside of an Atlanta club the previous year. And in 2007 the “Funkdafied” rapper hit a hostess over the head with a rum bottle and was sentenced to three years in prison over the altercation. The victim was awarded a multimillion verdict after suing Da Brat following her release from prison.
Jamie Lynn Spears
Her sister may be more famous but her behavior is also more notorious. Jamie Lynn Spears basically grew up in her pop star sister’s shadow. Stepping into the limelight of her own, the younger Spears was the star of “Zoey 101” on Nickelodeon before quitting the show after getting knocked up at the age of 16. But it’s her sister Britney who had a public meltdown, shaved off her hair and attacked a paparazzi’s car with an umbrella in 2007.
We fell in love with her on the short-lived sitcom “Thea.” Brandy went on to star in her own show while simultaneously launching a successful singing career. Keeping it all in the family, her mother Sonja Norwood became her manager and she has collaborated with her brother Ray J in music as well as on television. In addition to appearing on her brother’s reality show “For The Love of Ray J,” the “Sitting In My Room” singer also co-starred in “”Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business” with her younger brother. Ray J has proven that he is not above fighting after getting into an altercation with rapper Fabolous inside of a Vegas nightclub in 2011. And there s that infamous sex tape.
They all followed in their eldest brother’s footsteps and headed towards a career in the entertainment industry. Alec, Stephen, Daniel and William Baldwin are all successful Hollywood actors but the rest do not act as crazy as Alec does in the face of paparazzi. The “30 Rock’s” antics have been well publicized the last couple of years. Alec has gotten into several screaming matches and physical scuffles with photographers while living in Manhattan, NY. Earlier today news broke of Alec’s arrest while riding his bike down the wrong way on Fifth Ave.
They may not share the same last name anymore but Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen share the same mother and father. Estevez kept his given name while Charlie (born Carlos Estevez) changed his name soon after his famous father went from Ramon Estevez to Martin Sheen. While Emilio has gone on to have a successful acting career, his younger brother Charlie had an even bigger one complete with even bigger antics. Sheen’s infamous showdown with his former boss and creator of “Two and a Half Men” Chuck Lorre was the type of fodder every late night talk show host dreamed of. Drugs, women and hard partying have also marred Sheen’s career.
He may be a household name but comedy runs in the Murphy family. Eddie Murphy became famous as a stand up comedian before conquering Hollywood with a slew of box office hits under his belt. But we were introduced to his older brother Charlie, who was featured in a handful of movies beforehand, during his hilarious run on Comedy Central’s “Dave Chappelle Show.” The older Murphy served in the U.S. Navy for six year and signed up the day he was released from prison after serving ten months. He also worked for his more famous brother as his bodyguard.
Kim and and Kourtney Kardashian
Yes, Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J helped her family land a reality show of their own and catapulted them all to stardom but she’s not the craziest one out of the bunch. The third out of six children, Khloe is making a name for herself outside of her family. In 2007, she was arrested for driving under the influence and two years later a transsexual filed a lawsuit against her who accusing Khloe of assaulting her. This past February Khloe took to twitter to defend her younger sister Kendall Jenner after the twittersphere came down on her for not wearing a bra while on the catwalk during New York Fashion Week. And let’s not forget Khloe married NBA star Lama Odom exactly one month after meeting him.
They both grew up in the house with the same rocker and father Ozzy Osbourne but Jack and Kelly lead different lives. They both got their own taste of fame by starring with their parents in the MTV reality show “The Osbournes.” Since then Kelly has forged on her own by continuing a career in the entertainment world as a singer and then television show co-host while Jack pursued a career as a fitness and travel reporter. Kelly takes more after her mother and shares Sharon’s feisty personality. She has gotten into public beefs with pop stars Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga that have gotten nasty. Last year, Kelly tried to end the ongoing bad blood with Lady Gaga by offering an apology via twitter.
